Revision as of 21:38, 21 November 2015

Super Monkey Ball Plus is a video game which is the exact same as the original 2001 game (including Super Monkey Ball 2), but with new content.

The game features two new backgrounds not seen in the original game; Vortex and Cola Factory. Vortex uses the same music as Monkey Fight and Cola Factory uses a sample of Eric Prydz' song Pjanoo. On the Playstation Vita and the XBOX 360 version, the Underwater theme uses the same music as the Ocean version of Monkey Ball. The Storm uses the Heavy Rain music as in Monkey Ball. The Fullmoon Night and Star from Monkey Ball returns as it appears in Master Extra.

The song will be released for the Nintendo NX.

Challenge Mode

Unlike other games, you can save your progress at any time.

6 Conveyor obstacles. Go straight forward to the goal. Mountain
7 Platforms pushing in and out slowly. Cross two for the goal, but crossing a third gives you a green goal and crossing a fourth gives you a red goal.
8 Go up to a launcher which sends you speeding towards the goal.
9 Escalator which sends you to a ramp you must jump to make it to the goal.

15 Bumpy obstacle course. If you go past the blue goal, there is a thinner path which leads to a green goal.
16 Wavy course. Go up to the wall and push against it whilst rolling up and down the waves to the goal. Mall
17 You start in the centre of this circular platform. There is a part sticking out which spins around. It has the blue, green and red goals attached to it. Get to one of the goals whilst it is idle before it spins again. The red goal takes you straight to the final level.
18 A straight, long path with ramps. It is very long, so you must make it before time runs out.
19 A thin path with platforms at the side pushing in and out. The walls can push you off if you are not careful. There is another path with 3 banana bunches.
20 A golf course. You have to avoid clubs swinging in and out as well as golf balls getting hit everywhere. There are a few windmills to go under. The goal is at the end.

Beginner Extra

# Description Background
1 Exact copy of Beginner Extra 1 in SMB 1. Space
2 Similar to Master 4 in SMB 2, but there are not blocks pushing in and out and the jumps actually have a cliff you can roll across. Contains a green goal.
3 Exact copy of Beginner Extra 2 in SMB 1.
4 You must jump on to a platform shaped as a banana. If you are willing to take a risk, you can grab a few bunches at the sides.
5 Level is shaped as a shirt hanger. You start at the hanging part. The blue goal is located on one end, but a thinner end contains a green goal.
6 Exact copy of Beginner Extra 3 in SMB 1.
7 You have to run away from a boulder to the goal. If you go too slow, the boulder will crush you, and if you go too fast, you will miss the goal and plunge off.

11 Pyramid maze. The goal is at the top. This level has 120 seconds due to its size. Desert
12 A wide, swigly path with swinging bars.
13 Two sloped walls. The smaller one has a blue goal and some bananas, whilst the other one has a green goal and four bunches.
14 Similar to the Sucker Punch from Total Wipeout. You must make sure that the walls poking out do not push you off.
15 You are on a squared flooring with nothing but you on it. There is a cannon which shots balls you must avoid. After a while, the cannon shoots out the goal.
16 Large area with a bunches of holes in it. The goal has a wall around it, so you have to go around one of the tight edges to get to it.
17 You have to fall onto the platform which has the goal on it. If you fall again, you can get a green goal and falling once more gives you a red goal.
18 You must beat a set of dominos to the goal. They are relatively slow, but there are bunches on the outskirts.
19 Similar to Beginner 15 in SMBDX. The goal is literary given to you, but the platform is moving and gives a good opportunity to get a bunch of bananas.
20 Exact copy of Advanced 20 in SMB 1. Bonus
21 Exact copy of Advanced 12 in SMB 1. Mountain
22 Exact copy of Advanced 13 in SMB 1.

37 Exact copy of Advanced 28 in SMB 1.
38 Exact copy of Advanced 29 in SMB 1.
39 Exact copy of Advanced 30 in SMB 1.
40 The bananas are on rotating floors. Similar to Master Extra 9 in SMB 2, but there are walls to prevent easy falls. Bonus
41 Harder version of Beginner 20. Underwater
42 Harder version of Beginner 5. The outer parts have holes in them.
43 You have to get on to certain parts which are on rails. You have to make a running push to get them moving to the next area, or you might get stuck and be forced to sacrifice a life.
44 Level shaped as a fork. One part contains a blue goal, another contains a green goal, another contains a red goal and the last contains a set of bananas.
45 Some parts of the floor spin. You have to get on and off the parts as they are stationary.
46 You have to get on the thin paths and jump off them. This can be difficult if you do not have balance skills.
47 A tower. You must make it up the slopes. Trickier than it sounds.
48 Pinball machine. You start at the top and try to dodge the objects preventing you from getting to the goal.
49 A very large obstacle. First, there is a big area with holes, where if you fall down the holes, you must skip the next part, which is the tunnel. The tunnel contains 20 bananas in it. Next, there is a ramp and finally, some swinging hammers.
50 You are in a ghost train ride. You must avoid stuff popping out from nowhere and coasters driving past. The goal is outside the area.

Advanced Extra

# Description Background
1 Exact copy of Advanced Extra 1 in SMB 1. Space
2 A combination of Advanced levels 21 through 25. This level has 120 seconds due to its length.
3 Exact copy of Advanced Extra 2 in SMB 1.
4 A Pac Man-like maze. There is a blue goal slowly moving about and a green goal which tries to move away from you. Plenty of bananas here.
5 Exact copy of Advanced Extra 3 in SMB 1.
6 You have to go down a tube which keeps rotating about the place. You have to time the perfect moment to land on the goal area.
7 Exact copy of Advanced Extra 4 in SMB 1.
8 Six teirs. You start at the bottom and have to use a curved path at the side to go up levels. The second tier has a blue goal, the fourth tier has a green goal and the sixth tier has a red goal. Each tier also has a set of bananas. Vortex
9 Exact copy of Adavnced Extra 5 in SMB 1.
10 You must chase after a teleported which is moving about, then wait for a spider on a spinning wheel to bring the goal up.
11 A big area with a bunch of holes and bombs. You want to get to the end without hitting the bombs, as they can make you fall off the stage.
12 A tube like obstacle. You must first hit a switch at the end which brings down a platform to the goal, then you must make it through the whole thing again before time runs out.
13 You must take a ramp down and land on this mountain-like obstacle without falling off. The goal is at the bottom, but the bananas are at the top.
14 Like Advanced 47, but you are rolling up the outskirts of a big cylinder. The goal is at the top.

Expert

# Description Background
1 Exact copy of Expert 1 in SMB 1. Jungle
2 Exact copy of Expert 2 in SMB 1. Contains a red goal.
3 Exact copy of Expert 3 in SMB 1. Contains a green goal.
4 Exact copy of Expert 4 in SMB 1.
5 Exact copy of Expert 6 in SMB 1.
6 Exact copy of Expert 7 in SMB 1, but the path was made slightly thicker. Vortex
7 Exact copy of Expert 8 in SMB 1.
8 Exact copy of Expert 9 in SMB 1.
9 Exact copy of Expert 11 in SMB 1.
10 Exact copy of Expert 30 in SMB 1. Bonus
11 Similar to Beginner 5, Advanced 42 and Expert 7, but the vast majority of the paths are thin now and go in a circular spin downwards. At the end, there are three different paths, each leading to a blue, green or red goal. Mountain
12 Harder version of Advanced 45.
13 Like a Donkey Kong course. There are three tier of dodging rolling crates with platforms shooting out to send you to the next tier.
14 Harder version of Advanced 12.
15 A big flat out maze. You can go around the hard way or cheat your way through by bumping yourself over.
16 Very similar to Beginner 4 and Advanced 4, but the bridge spins fast and it can be difficult to position yourself on.
17 A small, circular platform with a bumper in the centre. The goal is spinning fast and pauses occasionally. You only have 20 seconds to do this stage.
18 You have to build up some speed to make it past the crumbling bridge. The pieces collapse as soon as you touch them, so it is best to build up speed.
19 Harder version of Beginner 2 and Advanced 5. The half with the goal on it sometimes flings itself up. You will be flung off the stage if you are on it at that time. You can easily bump down the thin-ish slope to the red goal, but it is harder to reach this time.
20 Exact copy of Expert 40 in SMB 1. Bonus
21 Exact copy of Expert 12 in SMB 1. Storm
22 Exact copy of Expert 13 in SMB 1.
23 Exact copy of Expert 14 in SMB 1.
24 Exact copy of Expert 15 in SMB 1.
25 Exact copy of Expert 16 in SMB 1.
26 Exact copy of Expert 17 in SMB 1.
27 Exact copy of Expert 18 in SMB 1.
28 Exact copy of Expert 19 in SMB 1.
29 Exact copy of Expert 21 in SMB 1.
30 A spinning roulette with ten segments. Nine of the segments have banana bunches and the tenth has a hole which can suck you in. If you get a bunch, the floor will push you back up so you can try for more bananas until the time runs out. Bonus
31 Exact copy of Expert 22 in SMB 1. Underwater
32 Exact copy of Expert 23 in SMB 1.
33 Exact copy of Expert 24 in SMB 1.
34 Exact copy of Expert 25 in SMB 1.
35 Exact copy of Expert 26 in SMB 1.
36 Exact copy of Expert 27 in SMB 1.
37 Exact copy of Expert 28 in SMB 1.
38 Exact copy of Expert 29 in SMB 1.
39 Exact copy of Expert 31 in SMB 1.
40 You are in a sphere-like area which is impossible to fall out of. It spins around, so you must get as much bananas as possible whilst spinning about in it. Bonus
41 You must get up a slope to reach the goal. There is another slope with holes with a green goal and a third with holes and bumpers with a red goal. Desert
42 A difficult obstacle with falling blocks. You may get stuck and have to sacrifice a life.
43 A long balance test. You do not have time to waste, as you only have 40 seconds and the obstacle is large.
44 You have to use switches to start and stop moving blocks from moving. There are alternative paths with banana bunches, but they usually slow you down. It is best to head straight to the goal.
45 You have to get across pans, with the lids flying in the air (you can still stand on them). Falling in the pans give you death as well as falling off the stage.
46 Like Beginner 13 and Advanced 28, but there are three jumps. You have 60 seconds, however, unlike the Advanced variant.
47 Like Expert 90 in SMB DX. You are on a ring-like area which is spinning about. You have to keep on moving and chase the goal.
48 There are two ramp jumps you must cross. The second one has a small landing area, so beware! There is a third ramp jump containing a green goal.
49 Piano-like level. Some of the pieces are pushed in for a few seconds at a time. This can be difficult, as your time can run out before even making it halfway there. Requires some luck.
50 Possibly the most wackiest bonus stage in the history of Monkey Ball. There are 5 slides you can go down and collect bananas from. You have 90 seconds. Do this right, and you can get over 100 bananas. Bonus
51 Exact copy of Expert 32 in SMB 1. Cola Factory
52 Exact copy of Expert 33 in SMB 1.
53 Exact copy of Expert 34 in SMB 1.
54 Exact copy of Expert 35 in SMB 1.
55 Exact copy of Expert 36 in SMB 1.
56 Exact copy of Expert 37 in SMB 1.
57 Exact copy of Expert 38 in SMB 1.
58 Exact copy of Expert 39 in SMB 1.
59 Exact copy of Expert 41 in SMB 1.
60 A spinning star. There are a few bananas scattered everywhere, with bunches at the five ends. The star spins faster as time progresses, so try to get the bunches first. Bonus
61 Exact copy of Expert 42 in SMB 1. Contains a green and red goal. Mall
62 Exact copy of Expert 43 in SMB 1.
63 Exact copy of Expert 44 in SMB 1.
64 Exact copy of Expert 45 in SMB 1.
65 Exact copy of Expert 46 in SMB 1. Contains a green goal.
66 Exact copy of Expert 47 in SMB 1.
67 Exact copy of Expert 48 in SMB 1.
68 Exact copy of Expert 49 in SMB 1.
69 Exact copy of Expert 50 in SMB 1.
70 This level is all over the place. First, you must go down a small tube containing bananas (which are unavoidable), then you collecting bananas via a area similar to Advanced 30. After spending a while there, the hole opens and pulls you in. You then have to collect bananas as you are rolling down a steep ramp. Finally, you go through a small hole and fall on top of a bananas bunch. Bonus
71 A Drum Kit themed level where you start by going onto the base drum, launching onto the set whenever the pedal kicks the base drum and then you go onto snare drum and them you use the hi hat control to launch yourself onto the hi hat and then onto the crash symbol and wait for the stick to hit the crash symbol so you are launched onto the ride symbol where the goal is. Glacier
72 Like Advanced 27, but the goals are even faster. Like the Advanced variant, there is a green and red goal.
73 The goal is moving back and forth on a conveyor. The conveyor is very fast and it is where you start. You have to run up to the goal. Bouncing off the sides can lead you to your death. There are also bananas at the ends.
74 You must navigate around a flat out maze looking for switches to open a gate to the goal. There are walls moving in and out. If you bump into one of these, they can send you flying off the stage.
75 Harder version of Advanced 34. The level has a lot of bumpers and holes. There is a red goal.
76 A slide with holes and curves. If you go too slow, you will run out of time and if you go too fast, you will bump straight off the stage.
77 A roundabout like obstacle. On similarities to Beginner 17. The three goals are spinning really fast on a roundabout divided into three sections. The blue goal has the biggest section whereas the red goal has the smallest. You only get two shots in your 40 second period. Taking the red goal here takes you to the final level.
78 Harder version of Beginner 20 and Advanced 41.
79 More crumbling platforms, but this time you have to dive into icebergs. The doors are small, so be careful.
80 The goal has a glass box over it. It is moving and jumping. When it hits the floor after jumping, it pumps the floor up. You have to slam into it after it jumps. Do this 3 times and the goal will pop out.

Expert Extra

# Description Background
1 Exact copy of Expert Extra 1 in SMB 1. Space
2 Exact copy of Expert Extra 2 in SMB 1.
3 Exact copy of Expert Extra 3 in SMB 1, but the hitter is even bigger than before!
4 Exact copy of Expert Extra 4 in SMB 1.
5 Exact copy of Expert Extra 5 in SMB 1, but it also spit out green and red goals.
6 You have to balance on these seesaws you must position carefully. There are two you must pass. The third is an optional green goal. If you fall on the third one, you will be taken to a blue goal.
7 A bigger version of Expert 39. You, however, have to pay attention to which blocks have platforms which spring you up.
8 The path is shaped like rails, with big holes. You have to make it up an eventually big slope. Something thankful about this level is that if you lose your balance, you can balance on the thick areas.
9 You have to hit a switch which makes a block appear. You must balance on the block as it moves you about. It might make sudden turns, something you should be careful about.
10 You have to make it to the end whilst balancing on the circular objects attached to a pole above. They have trouble supporting your weight. Passing three gives you a blue goal. Passing five gives you a green goal and passing seven gives you a red goal.
11 Eaxct copy of Expert Extra 6 in SMB 1. Vortex
12 Exact copy of Expert Extra 7 in SMB 1.
13 Exact copy of Expert Extra 8 in SMB 1.
14 Exact copy of Expert Extra 9 in SMB 1.
15 Exact copy of Expert Extra 10 in SMB 1.
16 Like Advanced 9 and Expert 8, but there are six paths and they are very curvy and wavy. The easiest two give you the blue goal, the third and fourth path give you a green goal and the hardest two give you a red goal.
17 Quite like Expert 68, but only the goal is protected with bumpers and there is a stick in the centre. It will try to shoot you with marbles without warning and randomly.
18 You have to ramp off a tight path onto the next. Can be very difficult since the last part spirals down and you only have 30 seconds.
19 You must beat some racing car to the goal in this curvy stage. The car will knock the goal off if you are too slow.
20 Even harder version of Expert 80. This time it takes four hits and is twice as aggresive. You get 120 seconds this time.

Master

To unlock Master, you must beat Expert without using a continue.

12 Like Expert 44 in SMB 2, but the pipes are curved and the green goal has bumpers.
13 Exact copy of Master 9 in SMB 1.
14 Exact copy of Master 10 in SMB 1.
15 You have to charge across waves. If you go too slow, you will fall off. As you move on, you come across ones with walls in the centre, which can be really tricky to cross.

17 Exact copy of Master 4 in SMB 2. Vortex

31 A circular platform. The goal is spinning fast (and never stops), and there are 50 bananas moving about. Once you are done grabbing bananas, try to get into the goal. Easy.
